Georgia's Snowden is described by Oh My Rockness as a cross between Interpol and Nada Surf. As some of you may know, I'm a rabid Interpol fan (although I'm not in love with their last album). But this isn't about Interpol, is it? It is not. It is about Snowden, and I think they will put on a good show. They're somewhat atmospheric, somewhat moody, somewhat synth-y, and that is what I dig. So come on out! Colour Revolt opens (they have a track on the current Paste magazine compilation CD).

I've been wanting to see these guys for a while. Thanks for the heads up on their tour. I might have friends in from out of town that weekend. Hopefully we can make it out.

So many new people showed up, it was great!! Thoroughly enjoyed myself, wish we did more more shows at Subterranean.

didnt get to talk to everyone but i had a good evening. Its always good to meet some friendly faces.
    •  Snowden-- I really enjoyed their set, cute band alert factor notwithstanding. Sorry, I don't think Sassy even publishes any more. No denying the Interpol sound, yet something subtly different in the mix. Great melodies and rhythmic interplay. But did we really have to wait 20 minutes after they soundchecked so they could play with the lights? I'm sorry, but you're not big enough stars to make us wait to come back on stage and pretend you weren't just up there a few minutes ago. Colour Revolt-- good texture to their sound, but I needed more hooks and more melody. Songs came off a bit samey. Honeybee-- A well done performance for their first time outside of Omaha, but they did lack a mite of self-confidence. I actually was impressed by the songs on their myspace page. Their folksy afghan-covered sound maybe didn't belong on this bill, but the songs were good, and the bits that rocked out were especially welcome.

I was disappointed that I had to leave early and did not get to see Snowden's entire performance. But from what I was able to see, I thought they were good and was glad to have heard about them through this group. Color Revolt, on other hand, was not as impressive.
