This group is a "real world" extension of the organization I founded on-line called the Indie Book Collective. We are all about helping authors figure out their publication options then helping them succeed (i.e. actually sell their books) through social media, Amazon optimization, and other promotional events. Each weekly meet-up will be filled with discussion on the latest news from the publishing world and how it effects the market and our sales (or plan to sell). No matter if you are only ev …

We are a social group that attends a variety of films together--indie, arthouse, foreign, documentaries, classics, and occasionally popular films. After a movie, we often gather at a café or restaurant for casual conversation about the movie, about other movies, and other topics. Please read our "About" page to learn more about the group and its guidelines and rules.
Try new games, meet new people, and find out what story games are all about! We play roleplaying games like Shock, Polaris and Fiasco that encourage everyone at the table to participate creatively. Everybody's welcome! It doesn't matter if you've never tried story games before, or never played roleplaying games at all! Come try it out! We meet every Thursday night at Gamma Ray Games. You can take a look at previous games we've played on the message board. If you're farther south, check out our s …
This is a group formed to bring attention to projects seeking funding through crowdfunding websites, especially Kickstarter, and those that were created by local Seattle-area people through crowdfunding websites. We would like to encourage all who are looking to help fund some cool crowdfunding projects (no matter how small your contribution), who want to get cool stuff before it makes its way to store shelves (and a lot of stuff that is exclusive to Kickstarter backers!), and the people who hav …

I'm relatively new to Seattle and I would like to start up a group that collaborates and produces short films on a regular basis. More than just a networking or discussion group, I would like this to be an active group that produces work consistently. We share scripts and story ideas, vote on one to produce, and we do it. We pool our resources and we make movies - hopefully every other month. We can submit these movies to festivals or just screen them for ourselves for critique and discussion.
Meetup details are available only to members.
We meet Sunday afternoons every other week, alternatively in the Fremont and Capitol Hill neighborhoods, to share food and drink and chat about writing, publications, readings, and other projects on our plates. Note that we're not using Meetup to schedule these meetings, so if you'd like to be added to the invite, please sign up for the group and/or shoot me an e-mail. Also please note that this is not a critique group. The purpose of the group is to allow people who want to meet and make friend …

The Seattle Vinyl Meetup group was created so record lovers in Seattle could come together to visit local record stores, discover new music on vinyl and meet fellow vinyl lovers. Whether you're new to records or long-time aficionado, this group welcomes anyone who is passionate about music on records and keeping Seattle records stores alive. I started the NYC Vinyl Meetup and thought it would be great to see a vinyl Meetup get started in Seattle. We run that group with a very open, flat st …

"So, pretty simple. I like rock/metal, most of my friends don't and I figured I can't be the only one in Seattle who wants to see a few shows. So this group is mainly a venue to meet fellow concert goers, but those of you who are musicians feel free to use it to network, post your stuff whatever." -April, Founder and Original Organizer of Greater Seattle Metalheads "I just threw in to keep the group going when April stepped down, an unlikely despot upholding her plan of entrusting all members …

Jet City Comic Show is a brand new comic book and pop culture convention for Seattle, WA. Jet City is being started in order to fill in the void for a quality one-day show for fans and dealers. A show that will be fun and entertaining for the fans, where they will have time to browse all the dealer tables or visit with their favorite creators.
In five words or less: Nerdy Artists Hangout & Draw Comics! (does an ampersand count as a word? is "hangout" one word or two?) Our goal is to bring together people who want to make comics or video games to hang out over drinks and snacks, show off our latest works, share ideas and (of course) draw comics. Thus far, our gang is primarily comprised mostly of comic illustrators, with the occasional writer and game developer. We have had a few seasoned professionals at our table, but the vast majori …
